Looking for schools with good studio art programs -- but also other classes/majors

I am helping out my niece.

We are looking for suggestions for schools -- she loves art, but isn't sure if she wants to stick just with art. She may want to try out something else.

GPA 3.0
Good Artwork (has had a showing or two, good mentors)
hasn't taken ACT or SAT yet -- my guess is, average for someone with a 3.0

FA will be a factor -- FAFSA schools probably best, but looking for any suggestions right now.

would probably like any funky, liberal, fun school.

thanks for any ideas (I am out of my league on the art scene!)

Skidmore is the first school that comes to mind. It has a fine studio art program, but it is very expensive and certainly not for everyone.

Alfred University has a good art program. The Art School is a part of the SUNY system and as a result is less expensive than many, but she would be able to take advantage of other classes within the school and even minor in another subject. The are several scholarships that she might qualify for if her SAT scores are good.
