Hi! I'm a rising senior and I'm really starting to get into starting my college apps. I'm compiled a decent list, but I was looking for a couple more colleges to look at with my stats.

My GPA is 3.2 UW, 3.4 or so W. ACT is 32.

What I'm looking for:
- medium to large student body (8K+)
- big athletics (Division I, football)
- good programs in sports management, sports marketing, or communications
- location is not important
- must have a traditional campus, none of this BU/NYU nonsense
- medium to large city/college town, no rural
- lots of school spirit (this is very important)
- happy students, but decently challenging academics
- good scenery is a plus

My list includes UMich, BC, USC, UWisconsin, South Carolina, Georgia, Indiana, TCU, and SMU.

u texas sounds great for you

No way I can get in to UT OOS.. I would love it there though.

If BC = Boston College, it will definitely be a reach with your GPA. But if you love the school, go for it!

USC, U of Wisconsin, Michigan, Penn State, Boston College would all be good for you to apply to.

Keilexandra - yeah I know it's a reach. I'm a legacy so it will help a little bit but I'm still reaching.

University of Miami fits all your criteria.

Also, take a look at Syracuse.

Here's a list of BCS Conference schools that have Sports Management as a major:

University of Michigan—Ann Arbor *
University of Illinois—Urbana - Champaign *
University of Minnesota—Twin Cities *
Indiana University—Bloomington *

University of Oregon *
Washington State University *

University of Texas—Austin *
Texas A&M University—College Station *

Syracuse University (NY)
Rutgers—New Brunswick (NJ) *
University of Connecticut *

University of Miami (FL)
Clemson University (SC) *
North Carolina State University—Raleigh *
Florida State University *

University of Florida *
University of Georgia *
University of Tennessee *
University of South Carolina—Columbia *

Of those schools listed, Oregon has the best Sports Management program. I would also recommend Ohio University, University of Massachusetts-Amherst for Sports Management, great SM programs that started the degree although lacking a bit in the spirit department.

UMiami has a great program, as does Florida State. Not heard much of UF down here in Miami but Im sure its pretty good with its great athletics program.

I really encourage you to look into:

UW-Madison (Which you've already listed)

University of Washington-Seattle.

These are both matches/low reaches.

Fitting your criteria, I'd definitely recommend University of Minnesota and Michigan state

Outside of the fact that MSU is your school, why would you recommend it? It doesn't even have a Sport Management or Sport Marketing program which is one of the criteria the OP stated.

I'll 2nd Carolyn, take a good look at Syracuse.

One of the best communications program (Newhouse) in the US (lots of notable sports announcer alums_ Bob Costas, Mike Tirrico...). Don't lnow if the have sports management, but they have an excellent school of management.

Beautiful traditional campus, right size, national reputation in sports, but horrible weather.

Take a look

A2wolves, I'd recommend michigan state to anyone (sorry. I can't help my bias. You probably couldn't too if you had as much pride in your school as I do :D). But that being said, the OP did say sports marketing OR communications. And the communications dept. at MSU is pretty swell, from what I've heard and read.

And you cannot argue that MSU has a:
medium to large student body (8K+)
- big athletics (Division I, football)
- traditional campus
- medium to large city/college town
- lots of school spirit
- good scenery

which fits exactly the rest of his criteria. And arguably, they have happy students as well
