I'm a senior from virginia looking to expand my college list since it currently has only two schools on it (UVA and W&M). I have a 3.79 GPA, a 2170 SAT (780 W, 740 R, 650 M) and a 760 on the US history SAT II. I'm hoping to study politics and international relations and maybe minor in french or spanish. I'm really open to any recommendations at this point, thanks!

There are literally thousands and thousands of schools in this country. You are going to have to narrow it down a bit… what are your preferences?
(1) City, suburban, rural?
(2) North, South, East, West? How far from home are you willing to go?
(3) Need for financial aid?
(4) Big, medium, or small schools?

Any other quirks? (eg you hate schools with frats? school has to have an olympic juggling team? you need to be near a coast?)

Schools that are known for international relations, languages, etc:

Middlebury College (VT) - small liberal arts college
Macalaster College (MN) -small liberal arts college
Claremont McKenna College (CA) - small liberal arts college
Tufts University (MA) - medium research university, has Fletcher School of Diplomacy
Johns Hopkins University (MD) - medium-large research university
Georgetown University (DC) - medium university, has School of Foreign Service

For some low match/safeties… American University and George Washington University, both in DC… the DC schools have an advantage in international relations because they are in the nation’s capitol.
