It’s a site similar to ratemyprofessor, but I can’t seem to remember the name of it. I also tried searching for it on the forums, but didn’t have any luck.

Thanks!

Penn has its own system set up called "Penn Course Review" where you get basically ratings on course, prof, and course difficulty, etc. You need a pennkey to get in though, so if you aren't a penn student, I'm not sure it's accessible?

Other than that...no idea...

yes, you may have looked for

http://www.vpul.upenn.edu/coursereview/

but again, it's only accessible if you have a pennkey.

hey people, what are the easier classes/profs out there? How do you find easy classes at Penn? Is there a median grade report ? I plan on taking 3 hard sciences and need something easy to balance my woekload. Thanks

newposter, when you get your pennkey you will be able to log into Penn Course Review. Search by class and it will tell you the difficulty as rated by students for each course section and professor. What sciences are you taking?

Thanks Crashingwaves. I know the Penn Course Review but I am wondering if there are others in addition to that. It will be nice if people can list their own experience. The three sciences are physics, Biology and chemistry.

just wait until you get the pennkey and go on the course review, because nothing else out there compares...

especially because the professors for classes, even sciences, change frequently...

you may want to specify what level of science you'll be beginning with, but in general you'll find that all the professors are about the same in difficulty (especially where you have common exams)...

and in general don't freak out about classes... i mean advance registration hasn't even finished here yet =p

A very generalized but mostly accurate rule:

A class w. a difficulty rating of 3-4 will have more work/harder than two classes with difficulty ratings of 1-2.75ish range...choose accordingly.

hate to throw this out there but.... http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/SelectTeacher.jsp?sid=1275?

oh we know about ratemyprofessors, but the information there is not linked to courses, and more importantly, not university-funded or supplied.

specifically, towards the end of every semester ratings surveys are distributed to every student in a class, and the response rate is usually very high - all results are compiled and published by the university on course review.

that's why the difficulty ratings on course review are usually accurate / respected, while anyone could put info on ratemyprofessors.

right, should we start a thread asking current students to list their easy/difficult courses w prof from own experience?

i'd think that at this point there's no need to worry over courseload, especially since pre-registration for the class of 2011 won't start for a few months...

and in general one's first semester class choices are rather limited, anyway, especially for students who are not in the college.
