I have started college visits with D2, and am looking for some suggestions.

Her stats are very good (4.0 uw, 4.7 w, 2300+, she'll have taken 15 APs by graduation, and will likely be valedictorian, very solid ECs).

That said, she is looking for an academically challenging university (preferably in the NE, but definitely somewhere cold) that is urban, medium-sized, and has a balance of academics and social activities. She wants to be challenged, but she doesn't want a cutthroat atmosphere.

She is pretty moderate in most things. Under consideration currently are BC (less diverse than is ideal), BU (larger than ideal), Georgetown, JHU (reputation is cutthroat), Wesleyan (not urban, a little small), Tufts (not exactly urban, high percentage of students live off
Campus), Yale (reputation is cutthroat), Rice (not cold), and Brown (a bit liberal).

Any thoughts on schools she has missed or on the validity of the above concerns? Obviously no school is perfect, and she needs more safeties, as well.

Thank you for your input!
