Looking forward to all three sports...

For a couple of years, we only had Hockey to look forward to. With our Football and Baskebtall programs now returning to their usual form, we have a lot more to look forward to. Ironically, Hockey, our most consistant program, is the one that is struggling at the moment, although our last three games seem to indicate that the team is back on track.

I think hockey will be fine. Both MSU and Michigan are at their lowest points in the season I think, but Michigan is picking things up and MSU shouldn’t be scoffed at. I went to the game on Friday and watched the game on Saturday, and I think we’ll be ok.

MSU is 6-1-1 in their last 8 and Michigan, although admittedly horrible in their past 10, is 2-0-1 in their last 3 (I think - not sure how they do shootout losses in conference play). Michigan was also playing without DiGiuseppe last night, and 1 of the goals on Hunwick was a bit of puck luck on State’s side. Plus, splitting a home-and-home series with State at our low point in the season ain’t too shabby.

That said, I think our performance in the GLI over Winter Break will be indicative of our performance throughout the rest of the season, so fingers crossed for us doing well there.

A shootout gives 2 points to the winner and 1 point to the loser. A victory gives three points to the winner.
