Hey everyone, I’m a junior who’s new to this website and wanted to get some opinions on my chances at some schools. I know it’s very subjective and hard to say due to the huge number of applicants, but I might as well get some feedback. Right now after visiting some places my top choice is Duke followed in no particular order by Cornell (legacy), Hopkins, Penn, Michigan, RPI, Washington in St. Louis, Carnegie Mellon, and Georgia Tech. My intended major is biomedical engineering/bioengineering.
I’m caucasian and male so that won’t work in my favor. I go to fairly competitive public school in New York that doesn’t rank, but I would estimate that I am in the top 5% in my class of ~300.
-GPA: 99 weighted, 96 unweighted (AP weighting is *1.06, Honors is *1.03)
-SAT: 2330 (800 Math, 790 CR, 740 Writing in one sitting)
-SAT 2’s: Biology M 760, World History 790
Planning on taking Math II and Chem and hoping for 780-800, if not I can retake
Academic Courseload (all academic classes are honors/AP)

All-County Orchestra, 10th Grade

Leadership Award given by Adelphi University to a few 11th graders in my town, don’t think that will mean much though
Extracurricular Activities/Leadership:
-Internship this summer at Duke doing research with a biomedical engineering professor who is a friend of a relative. Offered to write me a good recommenndation for anywhere and endorse my application at Duke which may help but can’t count on anything obviously.

-Mathletes 10th-12th, I’ll be a captain or assistant during my senior year
