Looking to go back / trying to start over

So my story is this -- after graduating from an Ivy League school awhile back, my diploma was revoked for plagiarism. I was in the wrong and accepted my expulsion. After a long period of self-loathing I thought "to hell with them" and set off on my own into the world, but in the six years since I've done nothing. Well, not nothing but I feel like I have basically minimized my potential and feel like a failure.

I want to go back to school but I have a lot of questions. Will anything I did in college transfer over as credits, or do I have to start over? And if I do have to start over, is it smart for me to mention my situation or not?

If anyone has any opinion or experience with this, many thanks for your advice.

Of course you have to mention your situation. You have to call the school you were expelled from and ask them if you got credit for any of the classes you did take, and what they will do about your transcript. What are you going to do other than move forward. Spend the rest of your life in the trash because of a stupid mistake? But 6 years is a long time, don't waste another 6, just start the ball rolling. You should have a much better idea now of what you want to do and what kind of person you want to be.
