So this past Fall 2016 semester was my first semester in college and my first time away from home. Long story short, due to several family and personal issues, I ended up traveling four hours frequently during to and from school to home. This greatly affected my semester grades, as I have now been academically suspended because of my poor performance. This entire experience has been really frustrating just because in high school, I made mostly A’s and the occasional B. Now I am back home and enrolled in my local community college in hopes of getting back on the right track and making those A’s and B’s again. I am taking classes from my community college that will transfer to the college of my choice, according to the guaranteed transfer agreement between the two schools. My only worry is that when I submit my application and transcripts to my desired four year transfer college, they will only focus on that really bad first semester instead of what I worked hard for at my community college. My comm. college advisor told me to be able to be in good academic standing from my previous school, I could take the classes online, the only thing is, the classes I took were not offered online so distance learning is out of the question and the college itself is four hours away from home. What can I do at this point? Has anyone been in the same situation and what did you do? All suggestions are welcome.
Thanks,
K
