Looking to Transfer. Chance me Please!

I am currently a freshman at University of Connecticut and am trying to transfer for admission into Fall 2010.
My Stats are:
HS GPA: 91.87
SAT: 710M/540CR/580W
College GPA: 4.0

My Choices are:
1. University of Virginia
2. Lehigh University
3. UNC- Chapel Hill
4. Michigan-Ross

My major is Finance (Business). What school do you think I have a realistic shot of getting into? and What other schools should I consider? What school would you choose?

P.S I live in New York

Thanks!

UNC will be impossible. But keep up the great work… Your HS GPA / SAT will be in play until you are at the end of your sophomore college year, and your SAT is about 350 pts below what would make you a hopeful OOS student. Sorry I can’t help you with the other schools but wish you the best of luck…

bump…

just wondering why are you transfering from UCONN, the academics, the kids, the nightlife?

As for the chancing if you wait till the end of your sophomore year it might be benificial because then they will only look at you college stats. I’d say you have the best chance of getting into Lehigh, because the other schools are slightly more selective.

If you have a 4.0 GPA from UConn, that’s really impressive. I suggest you to apply to them if you see yourself at those schools. You think you can’t get in, but you might end up surprising yourself later.

3.68 GPA from HS is an A-, which is still considered pretty well. Think about other people who did poorer than you. But I wouldn’t say you are gauranteed a spot for it yet.

Ross will be tough. You have a shot though, the 4.0 college GPA will help greatly.

If you took [very] challenging college classes then you should have a shot, but doesn’t mean you will hit the mark.

Yea what was your first semester courseload. UCONN has a good rep and graduating a huskie with a 3.8+ gpa is an incredible achievement and will get you places. Nonetheless if you want to transfer I think you are a match at Lehigh, a match/low-reach to Ross, mid/high-reach to UVA, and I agree with some of the other comments, UNC is impossible (not because of you particularly, but just because it is so hard to transfer in).

Could you chance me back:

thanks

Here is my courseload for Fall semester:

Math For Business and Economics (1070Q) 3 credits
Informational Technologies (OPIM1195) 3 credits
Psychology 1100 (Surprisingly class average was a C) 3 credits
Western Civilization (HIST1400) 3 credits
Leadership Skills (FYE 1100) 1 credit
Learning Skills (FYE 1000) 1 credit

The reason why I want to transfer is because I got put into a transfer dorm as a freshman and I missed out on a lot of opportunities of living in a freshman dorm. Also I wanted to get into a slightly better business school (UConn is great but I always wanted to go to Lehigh of Virginia). Also OOS tuition is steep at Uconn, virginia is a better value.

Based on this what do you guys think?

bumpp…
