Looking to transfer to a university in-state, not sure where to start

I am a student at Palomar Community College located in Southern California. I am a freshman computer science major with a 4.0 GPA. At the end of the semester, I will have 27 units done, and I estimate somewhere between 3.7-4.0 depending on how a certain troubling class goes. In high school I had a (my guess, I forgot the numbers exactly and don't currently have access to my transcripts) 3.65 unweighted gpa and 3.75 weighted gpa. My high school activities were marching band and jazz band in which I won multiple awards (one being the Louis Armstrong Award). I am looking to transfer to somewhere that 1) Has some good research/internship opportunities for a STEM major and 2) has some semblance of a social scene. I'm not really looking for some type of party school - just something that will give me a bit of a "college life". Anybody have any good recommendations? Of course I will look around on my own. I am mainly looking at pointers. Also, cost does matter to a reasonable limit.

Try SDSU, UC Davis, Santa Cruz, Cal State Long Beach.

Oh, I’m dumb. I forgot to mention that I was looking to transfer my sophomore year. All of those schools require you to transfer at 60 credits+

UCs and CSUs generally prefer junior level transfer students (most are not accepting lower division transfers), so your best options are likely to complete at least 60 units with appropriate major preparation and IGETC or breadth courses at CC before transferring.

Use http://www.assist.org to choose courses to complete the major preparation for your target UCs and CSUs. Palomar appears to have good coverage of the lower division CS prerequisites for UCSD and SDSU.
