I am an international student (sophomore) who is currently back home from school due to bad grades (1.5-2.0 GPA). I spent most of my second year depressed due to family problems and as such my grades suffered so much to a point where I was told I couldnt continue engineering courses at the school. I failed to pass Calculus 2 one of the required courses to continue my degree and I have exhausted my 3 tries at it. My only option to continue engineering at a different school or switch to some other course that doesnt require Calculus 2. However, I decided to come back home for a year and repeat Calculus 2 and some other courses as online courses and then transfer it to another university when I eventually apply to it. I wanted to know what my chances and what some prospective universities might be for someone in my situation. In my year off I planning on interning and gaining some job experience in the hope that it counts towards something. I recently finished working for an airline's major maintenance department fixing airplanes. I have another 6-8 months (Fall 2015) where I can gain some experience and take courses to improve on my bad grades from school. Any helpful advice would be great. Looking for some options as to what I can possibly do.
