I’m quite passionate about Brown and I’d love to attend there. I’m just finishing up my first semester of freshman year in college, and it looks like I will have received a 4.0.

I’d probably transfer my junior year, so I was just wondering if the Ivies, or specifically Brown, look at high school GPA in later transfer applicants. My high school GPA was about a 3.0 and my SAT scores were only an 1810, so neither of them are phenomenal, as I definitely didn’t try as hard as I should of in high school.

However, I was wondering that if I uphold my 4.0 GPA and cushion myself with extra curricular and such, if transferring to an Ivy is still an option?

I transferred to Brown.
I had a low high school GPA, though I’m not sure exactly what it was as our HS only told us the weighted GPA. I would estimate it was a 3.4

My SAT score was 2170, though. Your SAT score is probably more of a problem than your HS GPA.
My college GPA was 3.7
It’s always hard to do things like tell whether someone has a chance or not, but just thought I’d share those things for your reference.

I’m in the same boat you are. I had a 3.2 in high school and just finished my AA at a community college with a 3.93, and now I’m on a gap year so I can gain some professional experience and fulfill some of my own personal goals before I transfer. I’m retaking the ACT December 11th and am hoping for good results. Best of luck to you!

How did you do? I hope you get into Brown. I am also in the same situation. I am currently a high school senior planning to do my best to transfer to Brown. My current GPA is 3.2 and 1350 SAT.
Transferring is not for high school students, it is for current college students. If you are currently a high school senior, you would have to apply as a freshmen applicant, though applications were due on the 5th.
