looking to transfer

Hey guys
I’m a senior in hs and was rejected from Georgia Tech early action. I will be either going to my state school (Rutgers) or Umd my freshman year want to transfer to Georgia Tech in my sophomore year and I read on their website that grades and rigor of curriculum are the most important factors. What should I be doing other than getting strong grades and doing research?

Also does it does it matter when I transfer I saw that the deadline for fall is in March so would 1 semester of really strong grades be enough to get in?

Thanks

Stay one year to two years, at Rutgers or Maryland. You may find its just really quite good enough, and do not need to transfer. Another idea: It may be more cost effective to do two years your in state choice and two years at GT, and also give you two different viewpoints.

If Rutgers is less expensive for you, pick that one. Maryland is super strong in math though if you are leaning towards math.

Maryland and Rutgers are really very strong for many fields and you may find you like your life at these schools.

But if you are determined to transfer , get all As and take a rigorous load if you want to transfer. GT will ask you for your spring grades I bet but call them about that. (or apply for spring admit? You may be able to do that after 1.5 years? Then they have all your freshman record ).
