Looking to transfer

I'm a freshman who chose a school based on a very specific, very small program they offered. It is a well ranked school, but known primarily for their math and science departments. I thought that the emphasis of the college would not matter because I would be in my niche courses. However, now that I am here, I realize that it does matter to me. I am out of state and completely out of my element. I really miss home and suddenly don't think that it was worth it to come here. I don't feel like I fit in here. I don't like the classes I am in, and none of the extra-curriculars are overly stimulating. I will wait it out and see if it gets better, but right now I really want to transfer, ideally to USC which is closer to home. The thing is that I was not accepted to USC when I applied last year as a senior in high school. Looking at their statistics however, I feel like I was in the range of could have been accepted.
My SAT scores were 2130, H.S. UWGPA was 3.81 and I should do well this semester grade wise. Does anyone have any recommendations/advice of how I can strengthen my application/how to start this process?
