Looking up classes

Is this the correct way to find classes? Because we are not having success…

My D wants to double major in History and Math. I think AP credits will take care of her first year suggested classes for History majors so we are looking at Math (pure):

[Undergraduate Majors: Mathematics - The University of Alabama](http://www.ua.edu/majors/mathematics.html)

From there, we looked to see what classes are needed for SB, L, etc.

[Core Curriculum – General Studies Course Listing | The Office of the University Registrar - The University of Alabama](http://registrar.ua.edu/academics/core-curriculum/general-studies/#tab=tab-4)

From this list, we went to MyBama and Look Up Classes/Fall 2012. We are starting with SB classes, and especially Freshman Seminars. However, I don’t think we found a single class for an SB Freshman Seminar that is listed on the above link. Are we going about this the wrong way?

When searching for courses on myBama once you get to the page where you select the subject, don’t click “Course Search”, but instead click “Advanced Search”. Once you do that, select all of the subjects by clicking AAST- African American Studies, scrolling down and selecting WS- Women Studies while holding the control (ctrl) and shift keys. Then select Social and Behavioral sciences under Attribute Type and click search. All of teh courses with the SB designation will be listed. You can repeat the instructions to search for courses that satisfy the other core requirements by changing the attribute type.

Unless you are only looking for a specific course, it is much quicker and easier to use the advanced search as it can show all your options at once.

Very helpful! Thank you, Sea_tide and Juice Box :)
