I was trying to look up university of Maryland college park on the tab that says college search but the college isn't showing up. Help plzz

University of Marlyand does not use Common App. You have to fill out a separate application that is located on their website

That sucks an that’s too much work. But NY school were required to use common app

Someone needs to explain to me right now why university of Maryland college park doesn’t use common app

Certain schools may feel limited by Common App and feel like they could do more with their own application. Personally, I like schools that don’t use Common App, because I find that they are more inclusive and more personal, how I imagined the process before applying. I applied to one school without Common App, Tulane, and I felt I could tell them more about myself than with CA, which has strict word limits on certain areas.

Are you only allowed to apply to schools with Common App? What I would do is just forward your recommendations or whatever else you need via their application or through mail. It takes more work, but you decide how much you want to apply to UMD.

There are only, what, 540 common app schools? It is up to each individual college whether they want to join common app and there are far more many schools that aren’t on common app. For them, it is easier to control what they ask in the application.

So do I fill out the application on the college website an send it to common app or what

no it is completely separate from common app, its not related at all. You complete their application for their school.

Ooh OK.
