Looks Like Evil Robot Has Company

Those of us who are long time on the Vanderbilt Forum (and actually CC in general) remember Evil Robot, an articulate young man who chose Vanderbilt over Yale years ago. This article in the NYT reminded me of him.

Thanks for posting! I read an earlier column about how much he’d enjoyed his Vanderbilt visit - glad to see her chose Vandy. And that Cornelius Vanderbilt scholarship is a terrific honor. I’m sure an exceptional 4 years are in store for him. And now maybe more people will have an idea of all that Vanderbilt offers.

WELCOME to Vanderbilt! He will be a pleasure to have around campus and from the looks of things…he will have an immensely talented class to be with in Nashville for the next four years!
Evil Robot…we are thinking of you!
GO DORES!

Haha oh man, I feel sort of inadequate. I got the Cornelius Vanderbilt scholarship too, but somehow the only Ivy that came close to letting me in was Dartmouth, and they waitlisted me. :(

Wow! Go dores!

I had no idea that you guys still remember evil robot…I wonder what he’s up to these days.

In his “goodbye” update to CC (linked in Faline2’s post above - thanks to her!) he indicates his first real world job was with Google. Hope he’s doing well - he had lots of good advice for CC student members!

I turned down Caltech for the CV scholarship. At first, I really struggled with this decision (considered transferring). After my freshman year, however, I can finally say that I’m content. I believe it was the right choice :)
