Looks like it's Ole Miss!

Son just gave us the thumbs up yesterday of his decision. I had already put his housing deposit down and sent in his health center formsjust in case. We sign up for orientation in March and housing choices are between Deaton, Kincannon and Stockard. He is looking forward to rushing this fall as well. On his Ole Miss Facebook class of 2018 there are kids from all over the west coast, east coast and midwest attending. He also bumped up his ACT a point to a 28 so maybe some money will trickle over as well. Making hotel reservations for football this fall!

Congrats! Um. When is the health form due??? I put a housing deposit down to reserve a spot just in case it’s the pick (seemed like a good investment), but that is all I have done.

Congratulations and Hotty Toddy!

@Hoggirl - health forms would be best submitted by May 1 before Orientation.

@collegeguider - thanks so much for always being so speedy in answering my questions!!

My daughter was also accepted to Ole Miss. Put in housing deposit. But she is waiting to hear back from Mizzou, so not sure what she will decide.

Good luck with the hotel reservations. I already tried and the decent hotels have no rooms. I called the Holiday Inn there and she explained all the rooms are blocked up until SEC officials take their share. Then the rest will be released - probably around April. I thought it was odd NOTHING was available, as when we went for visit last year we went homecoming weekend and got the room only 2 weeks before.

This is an old thread but I’m hoping someone will see my response. My daughter was just accepted to Ole Miss and Alabama. She still has other applications pending at other schools but won’t hear until December at the earliest. She can register for housing tomorrow for Ole Miss. Do you recommend that I just pay the $75 so she has a good choice? Also, do you actually pick out your choice for residence hall now? We haven’t even been to campus to see what she would like.

definitely get it in ASAP, housing choice assignments are based on when your deposit was paid. You get her to Oxford, she will pick it. My freshman son is having a blast there now, is going through rush and loves his professors. Some of our friends paid 3 or 4 deposits at various schools. We are from Ohio if that helps.

Also she will not pick her dorm until May, again based on when the housing deposit was paid. They email her with her authorized time slot/ window.
