my D GOT THE SCHOLARSHIP TOO : $ 9600 AND ALSO THE 100% BRIGHT FUTURE ( WE DO NOT KNOW IF SHE CAN KEEP BOTH?).... ANYWAY SHE IS NOT SURE SHE WILL ATTEND.SHE JUST WANT TO SECURE THE MONEY AND THE SPOT IN CASE SHE GOES.... WHAT DOES SHE HAVE TO DO NEXT?

Yes... the Bright Futures scholarship and the FSU scholarship are separate entities... you get both.

If you receive the University Scholarship or the other freshman academic scholarships you still receive Bright Futures and any other awards.

It's like receiving a free (not quite) university education. Quite a good deal!

Disregard my earlier posts. I was looking in the wrong place!

I see now that I am being offered the university freshman scholarship. How quickly do these scholarships go?

Right now I am leaning toward FSU, but I have not visited them yet. I am scheduled to take a walking tour on the 24th. If I like what I see then I'm pretty much going to settle on FSU.

How fast do you think a nearly $10K scholarship would go? ;)

Well gosh, not by December 24th I hope! lol

Okay so I accepted it anyway even though I'm not 100% sure if I am going there.

That's basically an extra free kilobuck each Fall and Spring semester.

Even as is FSU rates as a top-20 value by Kiplinger for a university education. This would just make it more outstanding.

is it a binding acceptance for the university scholarshiP? because i want to accept it and am leaning towards fsu but you never know...has anyone gotten the email for it yet?

I'm confused. I received a letter in the mail today saying I was awarded the university scholarship plus reduced OOS tuition. When I look at the status check on-line though I don't see it, is there someplace special I should be looking?

Go with the letter but call Admissions if you need to.

Nice package.

are scholarships still being awarded to the c/o 2013 incoming freshman or have they finished?

I'd like to know that too. I got honors invite but no scholarship =/

I got the university scholarship, but not the honors invite yet. :/

When I went to a campus tour in December, some lady looked me up on a computer and said I was on their list for honors or whatever. I guess they have not mailed it to me yet.

They've been a little slow with mail in general, at least for me.

Will there be more scholarships sent out once students have notified the school that they will not be attending?

anyone know the difference between tentative accept and accept?

can you lose the scholarship if you don't change the tentative to full accept by a certain date?

thanks in advance.

I just clicked accept. I doubt there would be some kind of fee for clicking accept and not tentative accept if you end up not going to FSU.

Maybe tentative accept is for people who want to do a first-year study abroad program but not sure yet. [the scholarship is void if you do the 1st year study abroad]
