Anybody know anything about either of these schools admissions ... other than things from boarding school review... i mean like hardness of easiness of getting in, general pool of applicants, what you need, ect..

Well I know a bit about getting into Kent. And from what I’ve heard, it’s not terribly hard. I know a kid with a 59% on the SSAT with B’s who got in. He wasn’t an incredible athlete or musician and didn’t have a “hook”. I think Kent’s average SSAT is 70%, so if you get an 80% or above and have good grades, I’d say you have a very good chance.

What about Loomis? Any insight?

yeah, any thing about loomis??

they don’t take kids without “Community Service”

Ok… bump

Loomis student here, I’ll tell you what I know in terms of admissions.

According to our recent schools newspaper the acceptance rate has been dropped from 44% from a couple years ago to 29%. So while Loomis use to be seen as a safety school by top applicants a couple years ago, I’m pretty sure that reputation doesn’t hold up as of now.

That being said our football team still sucks.

anybody else??? like what grades you need and stuff… and i thought the acceptance rate was in the 30’s?

If you got those numbers of BSR then they’re probably wrong (ask anyone here about the validity of that website and they will give you plenty of complaints).

Anyways I think bsr reports that it’s 31%, a two percent differential isn’t very significant.

I don’t know what was the avg gpa of the accepted pool of applicants was (I don’t think any school reports those numbers). Most of the students I’ve talked to said they were mostly straight A students before coming to Loomis.

The SSAT avg was in the low 80’s I think.

bump!!!
