Loomis Chaffee

I want to get into Loomis Chaffe but my grades in 6th was mostly Bs an dmy graes or half of 7th was Bs and some Cs. I plan on getting all As for the rest of 7th (or at least the last quarter) and all As for 8th grade. I will also practice vollyball alot and become really good at theinstrument i play. Will this be good enough to get in?

I believe that Loomis’s acceptance rate is ~25%. To be completely honest, your grades may stop you from getting in. You should still try though! Volleyball will not help unless you are EXTREMELY good at it, then they may look into recruiting you (although I don’t believe that it is a huge sport at boarding school). Becoming really good at an instrument can really help, too. If you don’t know anything about the application process, here is a brief description. You will have a brief interview with an admissions officer, but it is not much like an interview and more like a conversation about yourself. You will have to take the SSAT and send your scores to Loomis (I would begin preparing around August). You will need teacher recommendations, so be good in class! You will have to write a certain number of essays, too. OK so that’s a general description of how it will go: good luck!

The volleyball could for sure help. Loomis has a very good and developed volleyball program (I was considering attending). Even if you aren’t being recruited or are varsity level it is always good to have a player who could work their way up to varsity for junior or senior year  . Also, do you do community service? If not, think about getting involved in some. Schools want to see that you aren’t just interested in one thing and that you are a well rounded overall good person. Good luck!

Focus on grades and volleyball, if you think you could be varsity material (LC is an athletic school). Aim for the nineties on the SSAT, but be content with the mid eighties, especially if you could be a recruit. Try to find community service related to volleyball, the instrument you play, or another hobby. Show that you have a passion. And don’t worry about that passion changing in a few years; we all change. Good luck!

Thank you what kind of comunity servas would i do for vollyball

It does not need to be related to volleyball, but I am sure there are youth centers that would appreciate assistance with their programs.
