my entire application is all academics. I dont have any sports or activities other than acadmics. haha it may seem difficult to imagine, but im not a boring person. i play sports for fun and everything, its just that I dont have time for a team. I’ve done really well in academics (Southern Regional Finalist in Siemens Westinghouse for example), but would some of the top schools reject me for being too academically oriented? I want to show them that I like to have fun, just not on an organized sports team. How should I tell them this?

maybe this is what you can write about in your essays? :| i dunno, i'm sort of similar in that i don't play sports, but i do do a lot of other stuff.

Your community/church involvement, volunteer work is all important too. There are probably things you are missing that you have participated in over these 4 years.

Hoobies are good for you... do you make things? (woodwork, remot eocntrol cars, ect.) Maybe you do solitary sports? (wieghtlifting, jogging, swimming, ect)
Boy scouts? Camping?

You have done something else besides books. Put that in...

Being a finalist is a BIG plus. There are usually a few students from my school each year who get into top schools who don't really have that much that they do outside of academics. If you can't interact with people that's one thing, but if you just focus most of your time on academics that should be fine. Do you do other stuff too? Just not as much? Research counts as an EC too remember! Even if it does have an academic focus, that's fine.

thanks everyone! I like to build model cars in my spare time, so I'll prolly mention that in my essays. Any more comments are welcome!
