LOR From Professors of the College I'm Applying To?

Hey Yall!

So at the architecture firm I’m job shadowing at, I was able to network with some architects who are also professors at the college I’m applying to. Would it seem fishy if the admissions team from that specific college saw an LoR from their own faculty members? Or would it be more of a leg up and a good thing? When I get people to write my LoR, would they prefer people from my school or from their own college since I do have that ability?

Thanks!

Does this person know you will enough to write a good LOR? Are they familiar with your academic abilities? Networking is great, but the only person there who I might consider for a LOC would be the person you’re shadowing - and only if that person can speak to your abilities, not just your interest.

Colleges ask for letters from teachers who know you in the academic context. Check how your targets word it. Some don’t want extras. And if you’re just shadowing, has anyone seen your work?

Yes! They actually review my portfolio and evaluate it professionally, even giving me tips on where to improve.
