LOR from UMich Professor + UMich EA

Not asking to be chanced!!

Context: I applied to LSA (EA) as a philosophy major.

I got a letter of recommendation from a UMich Professor Emeritus I’ve done social justice projects with since the summer of 2021, and was wondering if this would be considered the same as any other professor LOR, or if it would give me an advantage since the professor was from UMich, the same school I’m applying to? (Idk if this makes any difference but he worked at Taubman)

Thanks!

Your application is reviewed as a whole and not by one recommendation. So.
It depends on what your whole application says about you. What story does it tell the reviewer about you as a student. It definitely doesn’t hurt having a recommendation from someone at Michigan. It will definitely show your interest and that is a plus.
