Lor

Just wondering if there is a limit to the amount of letters of recomendations you can send out because i may be able to get one from my professors, who also teaches at harvard medical school, as well as one from a doctor who i will shadow who attended medical school. Although they both have relations to harvard medical school i dont want to go to harvard and would much rather go to columbia. would these LOR's have any additonal impact than one from lets say a history professor?

Every medical school varies, and this is trumped by the fact that every undergraduate institution varies.

Some undergrad colleges will tell you exactly what letters to submit, and you will submit those to every school. In my case, it was two science professors, one professor of any kind, and one research mentor.

If you do not have such instructions, you will have to comply with the instructions from every medical school, and they vary widely. Everywhere, however, your limit will be considerably higher than two.

Finally, I'm sure that a professor being connected to Harvard will not hurt your chances anywhere.
