Los Angeles: Most overrated city in the world?

Old thread but that don’t bother me.

LA is big and dirty. I don’t like it. It has no skyline. It doesn’t have anything real special other than the REAL rich neighborhoods and the weather.

I’m biased but I think Chicago is the American city. It’s right smack-dab in the center of the USA, it’s much more laid back than NY or LA. It’s got its own distinct culture, it has a beautiful skyline and a beautiful position along the lake, the tallest building in the USA, and a really nice stretch of parks and recreational facilities along the lakefront (there are no high-rise apartments blocking the view or anything). It has numerous sports teams that are decent (even though Soldier Field looks like a spaceship landed in a colosseum), it has several well-respected universities in and around it, it has a great cluster of museums all in one place, and you can experience all four seasons!

Michigan avenue around Christmastime is magical! lol

So there.
