Losing 'faith' in math?

<p>The problem here is that youre dealing mostly with abstract ideas with mathematics. For example, does “zero” exist in any real sense? What about infinity? These are concepts, not concrete or materially existing, ideas that help us understand/manipulate reality. But whether we can ever truly know the real underlying nature of this “reality” is a metamathematical topic that is likely to always be debated.</p>

<p>Read Plato’s Allegory of the Cave. My theory is that when it comes to truly knowing reality, we all live in the cave. Numbers, information, objects, space, etc… are all the “shadows” we see.</p>
