Losing hope in Rutgers NB

I just got rejected from Rutgers NB's Business Program and I'm left with Engineering still being processed. What are my chances? I'm beginning to lose hope in this since my SAT scores weren't that great (1690 - CR 510/Math 580) and my GPA isn't much of a head turner either (3.64 weighted). Should I just look elsewhere and face the fact that I'm probably not going to get accepted into their Engineering program?

to be completely honest, if you havent gotten into rutgers nb business school, the chances of getting into the engineering school are a little unlikely. keep having faith in rutgers but you should maybe consider looking into other schools too just to be safe

Yeah luckily for me i didn’t place all my eyes in one basket. I got into Rutgers Newark and currently applying for NJIT so with any luck, I might transfer to Rutgers NB in my sophomore year.

Well, for me, I applied 11/30, got accepted 12/6. My stats aren’t anything amazing, 21/380 Graduating class, 3.8 UW, 4.4 W, and plenty of EC. My downfall was my SAT’s, 540 CR/700 Math/530 Writing, but they had it in them to accept me anyways. =) Also, I went on a campus tour two days ago; the admission officer said the average math SAT of the admitted student into engineering was a 700, so if you don’t get accepted right away, don’t give up, make up in your first two years and you’ll definitely get in for the last 2/3 :)

kn1294 - if you really want to go to Rutgers, you should call the school and apply to SAS which is less competitive. You can then transfer to other programs if you do really well in SAS. Your GPA is very good and I know someone with similar stats who did not get into business but got into engineering. Don’t loose hope and keep the faith. Just call the school. Good luck:)

engineer school is harder then the b school you should apply to sas or sebs on nb campus.

I got into Rutgers NB engineering, but I had to leave after the first semester because of the lack of FA.

I was OOS, im from Maryland.
GPA - 3.93 W
Rank 5/290
SAT - 1610 (560 M/540 V)
Lots of EC

If I could get in, you can get too. Your only problem is that if you’re OOS, and if you dont get a letter saying you got a scholarship, you should reconsider going there. I was $16000 in the hole and they didn’t care. Rutgers is expensive and they wont even bother trying to help OOS students.
