D just left her change purse, with gator ID, credit card, debit card, drivers license, apartment keys on a bench outside Little Hall (building). By the time she ran back outside from her calc class when she realized what she'd done, it was, of course, gone. Any idea, assuming a really nice honest person picked it up, where they might take it, i.e. a lost and found on campus?

Already cancelled credit card. Now getting ready to tackle the rest. What a pain ...

She has no money on her, can't ride the bus back to the apartment she can't get into because no gator 1 card .... and can't get money out of bank account because no debit card or ID. I was going up tomorrow to visit ... now I see the fun things we'll be doing. Sigh .....

Found it!!! Lovely person turned it into math dept receptionist who promptly emailed d that the wallet was at their lost and found. Luckily, the only thing we’d cancelled was the credit card. Oh well, needed new ones of those anyway.

Don’t you just love honest people! Oh happy day.

ya know this reminds me of a time I noticed a really nice pair of sunglasses next to a printing computer in the CISE building, it was obviously forgotten but I decided not to take it all the way to the help-desk …because imagine if the owner found me midway holding her glasses, that would be a awkward moment I believe.
(I bet the glasses ended being permanently “lost” though)

What if your daughter walked out of her class and saw someone walking away from her unknowingly with the purse? first thing that pops up in your mind may be theft.

i am a bad person for avoiding any sort of problems?

though…maybe if it was a purse out in the open where no one can see me snatch it and give it to a desk-person.

I think i actually do have an experience back in highschool where this actually did happen to me though, i know better now.

A few years ago, I lost a twenty dollar bill while at at a swim meet in the O’Connell Center. I was kind of desperate and asked the public address guy to announce if anyone found a $20, to bring it to the announcers’ table. The announcers thought it was funny because they thought I was so naive thinking someone would turn it in. Well guess what…nobody turned it in and I had to bum lunch money from someone! I’m more careful with my money now.
