So my friend wanted me to ask you all what to do. Her teacher for sure mailed in her recommendation back in December but today she checked her portal (she just activated it), and it says that her rec isn't received. It's weird because the rec was received for all other colleges. Thus, she's telling her teacher to resend it on Tuesday. However, she's wondering if she should email Yale, telling them she is resending a rec, and that she definitely had it before? To ensure they don't think she JUST got a rec or something.

Having encountered a similar problem (Yale alone missing one teacher recommendation until acknowledging receipt yesterday), I’d just ensure she expedites the resubmission (special delivery, etc.). I didn’t add a cover note, but I’d think they’d realize that in all probability the original was sent in the process of normal university admissions along with her other reference…

I know this is a little late…but the same thing happened to me. I called admissions and they had accidentally marked one of my teacher recs as a supplementary rec and it was quickly fixed! =)
