lots of activities vs. few you're VERY passionate about

which one looks better between these hypothetical examples:

Person A:

Does LOTS of community service, has participated in research conferences, very active in clubs--overall, incredibly well-rounded, but all activities are seemingly disconnected with one another. However, this person is passionate about what he/she is involved in.

Person B:

Very few activities, but has greater passion towards them than Person B towards theirs, and most, if not all, are related to his/her major. You can see a clear, coherent connection among these ECs.

While not a hard and fast rule, I think that an application that reveals a story about the candidate is much more powerful and rememberable = Person B.

bumping, because im curious about this as well! thanks for your input entomom.

I’m struggling this with this too because I feel like on paper my activities seem disingenuous and underwhelming, but I’m actually very passionate about most if not all of them. Ugh…what I wouldn’t give for a unique, stunning EC.
