hey everyone my name's elaine and i'm from louisiana. i'm considering applying to west point as my first choice school and i have a lot of questions. coming from an all-girls, catholic high school, my questions to the guidance counselors have all been hitting dead ends. so i'll post 'em up for ya'll to help me with.

showers at west point. communal or private?

what kind of food does the mess hall serve? i hear milk is not a common drink option :[

whenever you send something to west point (pre-candidate questionaire, application, CFA ect.), how long does it usually take to hear back from them?

how good is their softball team, and do they actively recruit from the south?

are the military issue sports bras any good?

*no idea about showers
*variety of food is served, with PLENTY of milk…if you get there early, you might score chocolate milk!
*depends what time of year you send things; sometimes are busier than others
*teams recruit from all over the country…check the team out at [GoArmySports.comThe Official Web site of Army Athletics](http://www.goarmysports.com)
*most cadets bring their own bras, sport or otherwise

you will not be showering with the men. during the academic year your shower will be private. during Beast - you will little time to get a lot of new cadets showered. Out in the field there will not be a shower. thousands of women before you survived, you will too.
as m3b said - LOTS of milk, as well as gatorade etc.

Are you a junior right now? If so, consider applying for SLS, Summer Leaders Seminar. It will give you a chance to “test drive” the showers and food, along with getting a peek at classes, physical training, and military academy life.

yes, i’m a junior. i’ve already started to open a file at west point. i did the initial information and have been waiting for the email with my user name and password to start my application to come. the moment that i get that, i’ll start my application and SLS application.

THOSE are the questions that you are concerned about when trying to select a school/career??? wow. i hear the university of omaha has the best lunches and alot of unlimited, you might want to apply there.
