Lotteries! Statistics and boring stuff like that

Guess I’m still mowing a field in about half an hour - without dreams of how I’d spend $$ making this world a better place.

It was fun to dream yesterday too, so no regrets on my $10 spent. May the various winners use my money wisely. (Our state with its part too.)

My aunt lives in the Chicago suburb where it was sold, maybe I need to call her, lol.

I grew up with a family that won 30 million over 25 years ago. The parents took half then 60% of the other half went to oldest son and 40% to younger son ( all according to a newspaper interview they gave).

Anyone ever notice that the special 6 digit number you get as final verification on some sites does not feel as random as you’d expect? Maybe it’s just me, but I often feel like I see patterns that make it easier to read and recall those 6 digits than just random numbers should be.

I have discovered a failsafe way for you to LOSE any chance at winning a lottery: just let me buy the ticket for you!

After last night’s debacle, it’s pretty clear that any ticket I buy is doomed to failure.

Congrats to the IL person who won! I wish you the best of luck in your newfound fortunes!

I’m the old curmudgeon who thinks it’s ridiculous to buy lottery tickets, but I appreciate those who do since some of their hard-earned dollars go toward my state’s general revenue fund. :slightly_smiling_face:
