Loud Roommate, Best Noise Cancelling Headphones?

I have a loud roommate who plays music, chews gum like a horse while they do their work and eats their meals in the bedroom while watching TV, while i'm trying to do my assignments which makes it hard to focus on it.

I've tried normal earbuds but they don't seem to work so i'm wondering does anyone know any good noise cancelling headphones that would be able to stop this noise so I could do my work in peace because it's starting to stress me out.

Sorry if i sound like a harsh person but I wouldn't mind if they did this during the day but its at night at 10pm - 1am when they do this nightly.

Nothing will perfectly block out those sorts of noises, sadly. A good suggestion I’ve seen is to get a pair of the ear canal style headphones and wear a pair of the big passive noise canceling headphones you use for stuff like landscaping and such on top. I have a set of active noise canceling headphones, and I find they tend to block out the noises I don’t care about, but leave behind the ones that still annoy me.

Just bought these for my D. They had a better rating than many others which cost a lot more because they are a discontinued item, for $99 I thought they were a good deal. AND PRETTY COOL.

Have you tried a good old fashioned conversation with your roommate? Ask them to use headphones, instead of blasting their music, or agree to be quiet after a certain hour. Perhaps, you could ask for your RA to help you if your roommate doesn’t agree to compromise.
