Love math + engineering: what should I do?

Undergrad frosh looking at all engineering disciplines + physics. Numerical analysis, computational modeling? I assume those require the most math... Or are there other positions? Thanks!

I will probably enjoy majoring in math, but I'd also like to do "real" work...

You should be aware that a lot of the “math” in a math major is quite different from the math you’ve seen in high school or will see in engineering. Do you enjoy proofs?

you might want to check out this site to get an overview of different careers in both fields

I thought I liked/was good at math until I got to calc 2.

Yeah, I took a theoretical linear alg course and I loved it. I’ve done proofs for a while…

You could also try looking into applied mathematics. Not really too intensive on the proofs, but you’ll be using math to solve a lot of real world problems.
