Hook: Independent Study - research and writing re: My theory on Quantum Physics/Religion/Darwinian Evolution Theory.

My strength is writing, so I believe I will have an excellent essay and great recs.

What do you think my ED chances?

Thanks for taking a look.

id say u are not a shoe in. however, you do stand a very good chance

ED chances are decent. Out of curiosity, what is your class rank, to put your GPA in context?

Out of approx. 100 students, I guess I am about #10. My SAT is by far the highest of all 100, I have taken all the top classes but I unfortunately I have not been as studious as I should have been. I don't know if the school does class rank but they do award Val and Sal.

concentrate on your essays. they are often the difference; amherst places a lot of value in an applicant's writing ability. you're in pretty good position.

out of curiosity, where in florida are you from?

I find that you are a very interesting.... Can you tell me more about your hook? And also, did you ever watch "What the Bleep do we know anyway?"

I will tell you what I tell everyone. No one is a shoe-in. There are no interviews, so your essays need to make you stand out from the 10000 equally qualified applicants. Are you interested in continuing with your photography? If so, contact the art dept. and send in those photos!

Are there really 10,000 applicants? I thought it was more like between 6,000 and 7,000?

And let's be honest, not everyone who applies is equally qualified, and neither is everyone who gets in. It's easier for certain groups than others. It's going to be harder for him.
