<p>What effect will the low acceptance rate for freshman applicants have on the transfer rate? Any thoughts? Will we see a rise in applications for Columbia transfers as well?</p>

<p>the reason being that undergrad and transfer applicant pools are separate, and each year columbia makes allowances for a certain amount of transfers to join the school.</p>
<p>i know there is a big fear this might mean a change to transfers, but unless columbia announces something. consider it business as usual regarding transfers.</p>
<p>the one ‘unknown’ is whether or not the uptick in columbia’s popularity will also mean a lot more transfer applications, which of course would make it hard for everyone to get in.</p>
<p>well columbia’s “popularity” this year was mostly due to common app wasn’t it? and im assuming that the transfers would also use common app from now, even though im not sure if the implications on the number of apps would be similar…</p>
