I’m a junior and I took the ACT this April and received a 33 composite score, which I was pretty excited about, since I’m looking at top colleges. However, I was disappointed to see that I got a 23 on the Writing section, although I thought I wrote a very strong, developed essay. I write in my spare time, receive an A on almost every essay I ever do for school, and pride myself on being a great writer, so I don’t really know how I got this score. I don’t want to take the ACT again if I can help it, but I was wondering if the 23 would be a warning sign or a reason not to accept me for admissions representatives.
But on the other hand, I’ve seen that the wonky writing score has been an issue for a lot of students across the country, so maybe the admissions representatives would have a bit more understanding and look at my personal essay for a reference as to how I write. Idk.
If anyone has any insight or advice, please let me know!! Thanks.
