Low ACT Writing Score??

I’m a junior and I took the ACT this April and received a 33 composite score, which I was pretty excited about, since I’m looking at top colleges. However, I was disappointed to see that I got a 23 on the Writing section, although I thought I wrote a very strong, developed essay. I write in my spare time, receive an A on almost every essay I ever do for school, and pride myself on being a great writer, so I don’t really know how I got this score. I don’t want to take the ACT again if I can help it, but I was wondering if the 23 would be a warning sign or a reason not to accept me for admissions representatives.

But on the other hand, I’ve seen that the wonky writing score has been an issue for a lot of students across the country, so maybe the admissions representatives would have a bit more understanding and look at my personal essay for a reference as to how I write. Idk.

If anyone has any insight or advice, please let me know!! Thanks.

Just want to make sure that you saw the numerous CC threads that explain that you can have the writing section by itself rescored. You have to send a written request within three months of receiving the score report. Follow the directions on the website:
