Low ACT writing score?

So I’m applying to UW Madison early admissions. I have an unweighted GPA of 3.97 ( Once I graduate I would have 4 Ap classes and 3 honors) and an Act score of 29. Here’s the thing though my ACT writing is terrible, I got a 19. UW Madison doesn’t require the writing portion so my question is will they care that much? I can’t really take the ACT again because I’m applying early so what do you guys think?

That happened to me too. my writing score was much lower than my composite. I’m not planning on retaking it and am banking on the adcomms knowing how screwy the ACT writing was this year and reviewing my app holistically

Look at the percentiles. And writing isn’t used at many schools.

ACT writing has little bearing for colleges that request it, and none for those who don’t. Your GPA matters a lot more and you are well above admission averages, so no worries.
