What dorms have low cost housing? How do I request this and how easy is it to get? What is the difference between Low Cost Housing and regular housing and how much cheaper is it?

Also what dorms have gyms/courts present in them or around them?

the housing rates are here: <a href=“Redirect Notice”>Redirect Notice;

and if you are freshman, the choices are hayden and rubin, with reali low prices compared to the rest; and also 3rd north, which is still kinda expensive.

In fact, I would also want to know if we choose “lower cost YES”, does that mean they will only consider us for all the lower cost dorms? Like my first choice is lower cost in 3rd north, but second is founders… so basically, do they base more on ranking, or “lower cost” choice??

Which dorms have gyms/courts near or within them?

I have the same question as icebell

If I choose Low cost YES and choose Hayden as my first choice and Rubin as my second choice does it mean that if Hayden LCT is unavailable I’ll be assigned regular Hayden room or would it be Rubin lower cost?

How are the low-cost suites in Third North? I imagine they would be pretty nice, considering they cost more than half of the regularly priced rooms.

This subject comes up every year and has been discussed ad nauseum. please search these forums and your questions will be answered.

Sometimes the search function doesn’t work or the right key words aren’t being used. I don’t get why if you know the answer you can’t just say it, instead of telling people to search it up. When it is an assumption nothing was searched in the first place.

pumpfake,

It looks like the main gyms/ courts are located in the Coles Sports Center at Mercer St. (and Houston St.). The closest Freshmen dorm should be Goddard, though the other ones clustered around Wash. Sq. Park, like Hayden and Weinstein, should be almost as close to Coles. The Palladium facility on 14th St. (near Union Square) is closest to Third North and Founders (for Freshmen dorms).

I know Chelsea Piers has some sports facilities, but I have not heard much about it. So perhaps someone else with info on Chelsea Piers?

By the way, try this campus map to look at the gym facilities in relation to dorms:

if you’re looking for a gym outside of nyu, the new york health and racquet club is very good. my brother is a member there and i go with him sometimes, and it’s very nice. and they have places all over the city.
