Would you reccomend a low-cost triple? Are there any major pros or cons (besides saving money)?

You save money, but you have less space and are sharing a bathroom with more people. That's pretty much what it comes down to - none of the LCTs are squalid or anything.

There are nice LCTs and not so nice LCTs, either way you share a bathroom among 2-3 people. its not that bad unless you all decide to shower at the same exact time every morning.

do people in these tend to get along better or worse than usual? or is it pretty much the same thing as a double

I live in a LCT, DONT DO IT.

can you elaborate?

Having 2 other roommates in the space of a double will get on your nerves soon enough, trust me.

I'll be living in a triple with 2 other girls in Rubin ($5,900) .. I don't think it will be too bad to force myself to open up and intigrate socially.

Granted, there will be times when I'll regret deeply... but hey, this is part of the college experience.

If you truly hate living in a triple, you can always switch out to another room/Hall.

People have good experiences in doubles and bad ones. Same goes for triples, depends how you are as well as what the people you live with are like, I know people in LCT's who love it and others who hate it.

is the no AC deal in rubin really a biggg problem? and do they charge extra for facilities with AC/heater? Thanks

one of my good friends who live in Rubin, says that it's only a bad thing during the first weeks of summer. but i used to live in Pennsylvania--with no A/C... all you do is open the window during the night, and close it during the day.

well, I live in California with no AC. Basically, it's liveable. But it just sucks during the afternoon when you're just sitting at the computer and sweating. -__- But I guess it's okay. Is it worse on the East Coast because of the humidity? Thanks!

password: it's really not that bad at Rubin. I wouldn't stay there for the summer because it gets gross, but by the time school starts, it won't be that hot at all. I managed to survive, and I can barely handle temperatures over 80...

tell me about the LCT triples at Rubin. For 6K, I'm almost afraid it's 3 people living in a closet. otoh, for most of the other dorms (non-lct), it's nearly 11K or more. Ouch. I'm wanting to save some cash where we can since I know it's only going to get more expensive next year. I'd rather skimp on the housing, since eating isn't optional :-)

I am trying to get into a LCT and i don't care how gross it is. can't afford anything else.

No AC is no biggie

yeah! good to know...i mean...whatever. lol
