Hey, so I applied to cmc early decision one this year, and if i get in, I plan on playing baseball there. I coach supported me through admissions and I got a call from him a couple days ago. Turns out there were 450 applicants but only 75-95 can get in. They are looking for around a 17% admissions rate. So low!

According to this article, there were 250 applicants for EDI. Please enlighten me as how you got the number 450. Thanks!

I read the same stats as cclemon, and I am really hoping that those numbers are right. Even if they did get 450 applications one would hope that they would take more people early decision than they have in the past, otherwise there would be no advantage to applying early.

abhinc, as much as i would like to have the adcoms increase the amount of accepted applicants, cmc can only take so many people. Its emphasis on a “small student body” liberal arts college will make it hard for the college to increase its class size. However, let’s hope they allow a few more people in this year :)

Hmm, a coach said they had around 450 or so. That’s weird…

maybe they’ll accept more of the class early decision

It may be 250 for ED and another 200 in for the merit scholarships or something.

Okay, with a 32% increase in the application pool, CMC took in about 126% of the kids that they took last year. That being said(26% is smaller than 32%) the ED acceptance rate only dropped 1% from last year’s 23% rate.

the 250 from the article is probably for ED1 only, as the article’s last update was in December. 450 is plausible for total ED (1+2).
