So I've applied to Rhodes regular decision and I know it is not need-blind and that it is a liberal arts. Going into the application knowing this I decided to apply because I loved what I've seen and learned about the school overall. When I did the fafsa my EFC unsuprisingly came out to about an 1731. I'm gonna do the CSS this weekend but is there any chance a school like Rhodes can even help me with such a low EFC.

I would strongly encourage you to complete the CSS Profile. The range of financial aid received by students goes from $0 to the complete cost of attendance. I don’t know your specific situation, but I have no problem saying it is possible that we can help you out.

Tobias, Rhodes’ average merit-based award package is $13,475 (see [Rhodes College | Fact Sheet](http://www.rhodes.edu/about/371.asp)) so assuming you did a lot besides study in high school, there’s a good chance you’ll get some money regardless of your EFC.

Do you know if the merit based aid awarded is renewable from year to year? It wasn’t specified in my son’s package he received and I’ve searched but don’t really find the answer. Thanks!

It is renewable every year. Check for requirements for renewal as they differ by scholarship.
