Low Freshman Year Grades

<p>Although I started off high school rough (freshman year had a 3.5/3.9 GPA with subpar ECs), I've had a very steady trend of improvement.

<p>31 on the ACT, intending to try again soon. Have yet to take SAT/subject test. GPA currently 3.7/4.3</p>

<p>ECs: French Club, Latin Club, Psychology Club, Book Club president, soccer, voice, lit mag, school paper</p>

<p>Awards: History valedictorian, honorable mention at statewide French competition, two second place and one first place award at regional academic essay writing competitions (soon to move to state), scholar of the month, fourth place at school creative writing competition, Duke TIP program for creative writing, applying to pre college this summer, French National Honor Society</p>

<p>I'm a very accomplished writer, and have no worries about the essay portions of the applications, and my recommendations are sure to be stellar. My biggest worry is the slacking off and poor scores my freshman and part of sophomore year. If I continue at this rate of improvement, do I have any chance at all?</p>
