Low GPA and High SAT Scores

Is it still possible to get into the top 25 colleges, like Cornell or MIT, with a 3.45 unweighted GPA and SATs in the mid-2200s?

Not unless you have a great hook. URM status might do it, but Native American would be safer.

Depends on the courseload…if you took AP classes or easy classes and can explain yourself FULLY in the application. Write a HELLUVA essay.

But also, remember, getting into Cornell or top 25 is not the end all and be all…what is MORE important is getting into a school where you will thrive and be successful and HAPPY.

Its NOT about school rankings. Its about YOU and YOUR interests and YOUR needs and if you FIT into the school academically, socially and otherwise.

Would you rather be a big fish in a small pond and HAPPY?

There are people with perfect GPA’s in honors classes and 2200+ who are rejected to these schools. Is it theoretically possible? Yes, but I wouldn’t bet on it.
