my UW gpa is only 3.31 and 3.7 weighted. got a 2020 on the sat and my only substantial ecs include varsity tennis and french club, both for 4 years. is it even worth it to apply? OOS by the way, and hispanic/asian.

[Local News | UW: Hard course ahead for funding | Seattle Times Newspaper](http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2011757091_uw02m.html)

That article was posted in a thread here a couple months back. UW is increasing the number of OOS students they accept, so you should definitely give it a shot
Besides people that have that gpa and lower do get in :p

that is a very encouraging article haha

Definitely apply!
Your GPA is below average, but it is not bad at all.
Your high SAT score can make it up.
Besides, admission is not all about GPA/SAT.
There are other factors. Give it a shot!
Good luck!

If it helps you feel reassured, I got in for this upcoming autumn quarter with a 3.33 and a 1980 SAT score with only varsity golf and volunteering at a hospital as ECs. However, my trump card might have been my essays so really work on making those essays extremely good! Good luck!
