So basically, getting accepted to USC would mean the world to me but my gpa makes me think that its just a distant reality. Just would like a second opinion. Am I wrong or am I right?
UWGPA - 3.67
WGPA - 4.47
SAT (superscored) - math 750, writing 780, reading 760 (2280)
SAT II - US History 720, Math II 800
ACT plus writing - 33
Most EC’s are in-school such as President/Founder of math club and psychology club, director of debate of JSA, and other leadership positions in other clubs.
Class rank is about 10th out of 1100
SAT isn’t too average but the unweighted is a bit low.
Don’t focus just on one school. Where else did you apply?
You have a shot at USC but it’s probably 1 in 10, perhaps less. So, which UCs, CSU’s, and private colleges did you apply to? What’s your parents’ budget?
less than a 10% chance huh? guess I was right then…
nah you have a good chance. high match/low reach

USC is a school where if you’re in the norm for their pool of applicants, you stand one chance out of 5 - and “in the norm” for them means 2100 SAT or 31-32 ACT plus 3.75-3.8 GPA with lots of APs and Honors. So, 1 in 10 is not bad in that situation. You are above their average for scores - and they really like high scores-, you are slightly below what they’d want for GPA, ECs are fine but not distinctive. It’s a school considered “reach for everyone” and you need to visit other schools. Your odds aren’t bad, relatively speaking. But the school’s admit rate is low enough that you can’t expect to get in. Decent shot, yes.
Your class rank is 10/1100? If that is true, no way is your chance around 1 in 10 to 1 in 5, I’d say it is more of a high match.
You have over 1100 students in your HS senior class–those must be some huge dances y’all have??!
