Low gpa but high test score??

Is it possible to get into a selective college with a 3.5 gpa and a 31 act??

Which schools are you targeting? A good reason for your lower than average GPA?

Your gpa isn’t that low.

1.University of Miami
2. University of Texas
3. UF
I switched to a much harder high school my junior year for the hopes of playing college lacrosse. First semester was really rough for me cause I wasn’t used to the school and because of that I did poorly finishing up first semester with some Cs. Now (second semester) I have straight As.

I still think you’re moderately competitive for your selection. 3.5 is still ok, and the 31 is great (the discrepancy between the two does not heavily suggest intellect without application/effort). I’d obviously apply to some (at least 1 or 2) easier options, but you seem to be on an ok track.

I’m basing this with consideration to your earlier chance me thread, and thinking abut your athletics and unique qualities. Makes me wonder, though, A) why did you leave out so many important details and B) why do you need 2 chance-me threads with so little variation.

What’s your home state? FL?

For Texas residents, UT-Austin is very difficult to get into if you’re not in the top 7% of your graduating class. For OOS, you have to have really good stats.

The university of Texas is very unlikely, considering you have a 3.8 Weighted GPA

What major are you seeking? That can make a big difference.

I live in FL and I want to major in Business management or business logistics. If I ED would I have a greater chance at these schools?

What’s your FL weighted GPA? You’d need 4.3+ for UF.
UT is out of reach.
UMiami is a reach but possible.
You need to find 2 affordable safeties you wouldn’t mind going to (FIU Honors, Stetson) and a few affordable matches (USF, Rollins, Eckerd…)
Don’t forget to run the NPC.
