Im an incoming senior and wanted to find out about where i fall in college admissions.
I'm going to assume there are more people out there like me so here i go.

I have high standardized test scores: 35 ACT 790 SAT Math II 780 SAT Chem
I have a lot of EC's and have won a lot of awards in computer science and at college level events.
But my GPA is lower compared to most kids at my school at around 3.77 (I go to school in a really competitive area)

What are my chances at high level schools and where do I have the best chance of getting in. Im looking at UC's and some privates on the east coast.

Is the 3.77 weighted or unweighted? From you post I would assume weighted. If that is correct, your high standardized test scores will not make up for your GPA, but might very well allow you to get merit aid and/or honors at schools that are more on target with your high school record. But it is important to look at your GPA relative to other students in your school (in other words, rank). If your GPA still puts you in the top 10%, then you might still be very competitive.

oh sorry my 3.77 is unweighted. I forgot to mention that. Thanks for the reply.

my weighted gpa is 4.0 (using the UC scale) and 4.2 weighting all my classes.

My gpa puts me in the top 25% of my school.

Having a low GPA and high test scores may hurt you for the UCs. Furthermore, you seem to be interested in computer science, which is a very difficult major to get into. Here are my stats and my results.

UWGPA: 3.66
UCGPA: 4.00
WGPA: 4.29
SAT: 2300
Rejected by: UCB, UCLA, UCSD
Waitlisted by: UCD, UCI

Your unweighted GPA is a lot higher than mine, so your chances are probably higher than mine.
